It is very flat here at The Thomas Centre which means that everyone, including wheelchair users, can enjoy our woodland walks. Not quite the “100 acre wood”, but some of our guests have affectionately christened our four acre wood as the “100 acre autistic wood”! The reason for this title: all the trees are in perfectly straight lines!
On the northern side of the 25 acre park lies our private wood which allows you and your party to enjoy the tranquillity and privacy of lovely woodland walks and to enjoy the countryside with your own nature trails. We share our woods with families of pigeons and rabbits, pheasants, partridges, sparrow hawks, barn and tawny owls and the occasional fox.
There is always a lot to see and hear in the woods, especially in the evening when all the wildlife is settling down for the night.
Everyone can be at one with nature at The Thomas Centre!
Many an imaginary adventure has been played out in the woods and they have also provided the perfect venue for several hide and seek gatherings including our famous Woodland Easter Egg Hunt!
