"We loved our Mary's House so much, we thought about changing the locks, and staying forever, but honesty prevailed!"
We are very grateful to Lincolnshire County Council who funded this play park, and who continues to work in partnership with The Thomas Centre.
Our soft play area, within the playbarn, is suitable for children of all ages and is wheelchair accessible.
An underwater themed mural is the focus with children able to paint their own fish to be added to the wall!
The barn has also been brightly painted with images of cars, buses and rolling hills.
There is a range of toys, indoor games and art equipment for all to enjoy.
There is also a selection of tables and chairs which can be re-arranged to suit the needs of your party.
For example larger groups may choose to gather in Josie’s Corner for their evening meal where you can enjoy preparing their meal and eating together.
Not quite the “100 acre wood”, but some of our guests have affectionately christened our four acre wood as the “4 acre autistic wood”!
The reason for this title: all the trees are in perfectly straight lines!
Our private wood allows you and your party to enjoy the tranquillity and privacy of lovely woodland walks and to enjoy the countryside with your own nature trails.
We share our woods with families of pigeons and rabbits, pheasants, partridges, sparrow hawks, barn and tawny owls and the occasional fox.
There is always a lot to see and hear in the woods, especially in the evening when all the wildlife is settling down for the night.
The track is 100 metres long and it gets very competitive out there!
It also gets used for for people to practice riding bicycles on, often for the first time.
We also have a small selection of bicycles which visitors are welcome to use during their stay.
With all the safe open spaces and drive ways, we are pleased to have seen many young people learn to ride for the first time during their holiday at The Thomas Centre.
