Challenging Behaviours

Inclusion is at the centre of what we provide as a holiday resource for Special Needs Organisations.

The effect of medical conditions is one thing.
The effect of social exclusion is quite something else.
Often it is the latter that has the greatest impact on carers and staff alike.

The care sector is by nature a very stressful profession. We are conscious of the fact that new environments can potentially become a stress point for carers and staff, for example a new holiday destination. We aim to reverse this expectation of a holiday raising stress levels to an experience where stress levels are lowered.

"Beautiful accommodation and surroundings. It was wonderful to see everyone relaxed in an environment that suited their needs. Thank you so much for making us feel so welcome."

Mencap - Sept 2009

We go to great lengths to ensure that care staff for those with epilepsy, tourettes or challenging behaviours are able to look forward to stress free holiday with those in their care. Outbursts, seizures or unusual behaviours are free from staring eyes, in the privacy of a private 25 acre park.

The Thomas Centre is a place where the only real decisions will be when to make use of the indoor heated private swimming pool and when to put the kettle on for that next cup of tea!
