A family holiday should be something to look forward to, rather than something to dread. We aim to make this possible for families who may have come to dread the whole concept of "a mainstream" holiday environment.
As parents ourselves we have had our years of not being able to go out as a family, to the local pub for a meal, to the local swimming pool for a swim or to take mainstream holidays like everyone else. The theorists refer to this as “normal life” expectations. However, when you are parents of a child with complex needs, the reality is that it is often very difficult to have a “normal life”.
We found ourselves taking more and more remote locations for our holidays just to avoid the inevitable stresses and strains of mainstream locations. No doubt from time to time, some of this stress may have been self induced … after all it is very easy to become paranoid about any child’s behaviour in public let alone a child with special needs and unpredictable outbursts.

Against this back-drop, we started our very own “Grand Design” project, a luxury holiday park for families just like ours. A place where Jan (the boss!) discusses with you the needs of your family before you book. A place where there is at least some level of personal awareness and experience of the concerns that you may have. This way, we do our best to make sure that this is the right place for you, and that this a holiday destination that you can look forward to and not a holiday that may cause dread.
