Holidays are not necessarily about distance, but in our book, they are about quality.
So often, holiday destinations restrict what the young people can do and this can be especially difficult for SEN school holiday planning. For the teachers and the staff, it can become a nightmare of concerns and worries, about the venue itself and the safety of the pupils. For youth groups the need for local safety can be an even bigger concern and public places can be a real concern.
"Your help with the diary planning for each day was excellent. With the information provided, we were able to prepare our students with pre-learning activities which helped bring the whole trip to life"
We have put together a list of options from which you can put together a detailed daily holiday plan. We have included information such as travelling time (to and fro), recommended time at the venue, entry costs and web site details for the venue. Just “pick and mix” to suit the needs of your group and click here for more details.
With no outside influences, pupils and students are free to express themselves as they please, to let off steam or just simply to let their hair down for a few days. After all, there are no neighbours in sight and you and your group will have complete privacy at The Thomas Centre.
We have excellent amusement parks nearby at Cleethorpes and Skegness for fun days out. After a hard days play, why not stop off on your way home to collect a fish and chip supper!
There is horse riding on the beaches or inland, steam trains at special times of the year and lots of small and medium sized animal farms to visit. Then there is Sea World just over the magnificent Humber Bridge or the seal sanctuary at Mablethorpe.
Most importantly there is the space. The space to relax, to walk and talk, to run and play, to enjoy a game of pool or table tennis or skittles in the huge play barn. For the more agile, there is the football pitch for a game of football and for those who seek peace and quiet, why not enjoy a leisurely walk through the woods?
For those who have not explored this region, this is a perfect holiday destination for schools and youth groups. For those who are already from this region, as we said at the top of this page, this destination is not about distance but it is absolutely about quality.
Finally you are welcome to come and visit and discuss The Thomas Centre can meet the needs of your school or youth group.
