Coronavirus Update 11th May 2020
Firstly, to all our many guests whom we have had to reschedule already, thank you for your continued support and your many kind words.
On the one hand, we know we are very lucky to have so much space around us. On the other hand, I can assure you that wandering around the park at this time is the strangest of things for Jan, Thomas and myself. Since we first opened The Thomas Centre in 2007, we have never had a whole Spring-Time season here alone: it is the strangest of feelings! The park is in pristine condition, everything is repaired, painted and ready to go and then ….. silence!
Since our last update on the 13th April and following the PM’s statement yesterday (10th May), The Thomas Centre will now remain closed “at least until the beginning of July” (to quote the PM).
For those who have bookings in this period of continued closure, rest assured, we will be in contact to discuss the options available to us all.
Similarly, if your holiday is from July onward, please be patient with us. We all await clarity on the so called “conditions” that need to be met to facilitate unlocking and our re-opening. At the time of writing this update, no details have been provided by our esteemed leaders (is it me, or do we all despair at the quality of our politicians these days?)
Stay safe, stay well and stick to the instructions and if you know what “stay alert” really means, do please let me know! I can only relate this instruction to that old schoolboy chestnut: “Stay Alert, Britain needs more Lerts.”
With our best wishes to all,
Richard, Jan and everyone at The Thomas Centre
