Beach Lovers
The Thomas Centre is very close to the popular Lincolnshire coast and is situated just 5 miles (as the crow flies) from the beaches at Donna Nook, where the Grey Seals can be seen. We also have numerous coastal nature reserves and a number of local beaches, from quiet and secluded beaches to busy tourist towns.
Atlantic Grey Seals
Our nearest coastal area is Donna Nook, now famous for one of the largest seal colonies in the UK. Last year over 2000 seal cubs were born on the beach in the period end of October to the end of December .
Nature Reserves
Natural history abounds in this region, with lots of local nature trails, plenty of fishing and endless opportunities for bird watchers on our coastal paths. The largest in our area occupies over 5 miles of coast line and covers a huge area in land.
Local Beaches
To the north, just 10 miles away we have the Lincolnshire beaches of Cleethorpes, a popular tourist beach. To the south we have a variety of long flat sandy beaches such as the quieter Theddlethorpe and Sandilands, and the more touristy Sutton-on Sea, Mablethorpe and Skegness.
